Great little book. I found the story to be an absorbing adventure that would appeal very well to most age groups. The young characters are easy for youngsters to admire and aspire to with their intelligent views in complex situations. The story avoids the garish blood and guts theme that seems to be becoming prevelent in books of this type. The end result being definately G rated. Well done to the author. I can just imagine a movie based on this story in the same style as Lord of the Rings, having potential to be a cinematographers dream event. The description of the settings bears testiment to that. Harry Potter could have competitor with this one. 10 out of ten for me.

This story is nice and does flow. However I was somewhat dissapointed in it, especially after hearing the great reviews it got (which was why I read this to begin with). The characters for the story were compelling and very likeable, however, I feel the author did not develope the story to it's full potential. There's a great lack of drama where there should have been. Throughout the whole story there is no real stuggle going on with the main characters. I like to watch a character develope. The worst thing about this story is that there is too much "tell" and not enough "show." I read through 16 chapters hoping beyond hope that the story would really take root, but it never really did. The writer is a good writer and he has a good story to tell, but I feel he failed to fully grasp the potential to make this story truely good.
However, if you want a nice, clean, friendly story that's easy to read, I definitely recommend this book.

I couldn't stop reading it. the only part i didn't like was ending, compiled everything together to finish book. I guess i would have liked for the book to keep on going. All good things must come to end, huh? Put out the next book quick you hear. Les is right, it does have movie potential.

Just fininished. Very nice first book. Characters were very compelling, scenes very descriptive. I hope this book was an introduction to the characters and more complicated storylines to follow. I felt the story lacked some depth, but again, seemed getting to know the characters for later stories more important. Liked it alot.
